Panthers clarify uniform changes for 2023

The Panthers cleared up the rumblings of a uniform redesign on Wednesday, and it may have some fans feeling a little blue.

So, yes, the Carolina Panthers are changing up their look beginning in 2023. But that change won’t be as major as some anticipated.

Following Wednesday’s report from Andrew Lind of SportsLogos.net, one that suggested the team may be dropping the silver from their color scheme in a possible uniform redesign, the organization cleared things up. As noted by Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer, per a Panthers spokesperson, the new threads won’t undergo a complete overhaul.

Here’s what will be changing (and not changing):

  • Silver will remain in the color scheme.
  • The current blue will be corrected to “process blue,” which is a similar shade to the end zones of Bank of America Stadium.
  • The shoulder stripes on jerseys will stop short of going under the armpit, accommodating a technological change made by Nike to maximize mobility.
  • The logo will remain as is.

According to the Panthers, Nike’s new “process blue” is closer in line to their true blue. The current blue was selected by Nike when they took over the production of NFL uniforms in 2012, when it was the nearest shade available.

So . . . uh . . . trust the process, right?
