Panthers claim G Michael Jordan off waivers from Bengals

The Panthers scooped up G Michael Jordan (no, not that one) on Wednesday.

The post-roster cutdown waiver claims have trickled in and the Carolina Panthers are apparently trying to make a three-sport athlete out of His Airness.

On Wednesday, the team claimed guard Michael Jordan. The 58-year-old principal owner and chairman of the Charlotte Hornets is now trying his hand at foo . . . oh, wait. It’s not that Michael Jordan. Oops.

Well, the Panthers are bringing in Michael Jordan and it’s the 6-foot-6, 315-pound offensive lineman from the Cincinnati Bengals.

The 2019 fourth-round pick out of Ohio State University has started 19 of his 27 games played, all at left guard, over his two pro seasons. Jordan, 23 (that’s his age, not a uniform number), was waived by Cincinnati on Tuesday.

Carolina, obviously, has struggled with finding offensive line depth this offseason. Jordan, although not a premier name (in the football world), does carry over a decent chunk of NFL experience to the group.
