Carolina Panthers cornerback Donte Jackson seems just about ready to put his team’s Week 2 loss behind him. In fact, he’s already digging for keys to the next game—and even shared one with reporters on Monday.
When asked what he learned from Sunday’s NFC South clash between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints—with the latter coming into Bank of America Stadium for Week 3—the fifth-year veteran had some words of wisdom.
Donte Jackson asked what he’d taken away from watching Bucs/Saints tape:
“Don’t fight.”

Hey, he’s not wrong.
Jackson, of course, is referring to the fight that broke out between the teams in their meeting at Caesars Superdome. After Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore and Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady exchanged some words, running back Leonard Fournette and wideout Mike Evans came in hot to defend their 45-year-old leader.

Jackson, however, has a more pressing issue at hand (or below his belt)—his groin injury. He exited in the fourth quarter of yesterday’s defeat to the New York Giants after defending a deep ball shot from quarterback Daniel Jones.
Today, head coach Matt Rhule said his cornerback is set for an MRI. But Jackson himself would assure the media that he believes his injury is day-to-day and that he’ll be good to go (and not fight) against New Orleans.
