Nobody knows incoming freshmen quite like the fine folks over at 247Sports, among the nation’s most prestigious recruit ranking services.
So it is notable when they make predictions about the most impactful true freshmen in the country, and they are all in on a pair of young Ducks heading into 2021.
Wide receiver Troy Franklin and offensive lineman Kingsley Suamataia were both picked to be freshman All-Americans at their respective positions, joining USC defensive lineman Korey Foreman as the only representatives from the Pac-12.
Franklin is part of a trio of Oregon freshman wide receivers who have turned heads, especially since he was able to graduate early and join the team in the spring. A four-star recruit and the No. 2 ranked player in the state of California, Franklin has a real chance to establish himself as a budding superstar in 2021.
Suamataia is one of the highest-rated offensive line recruits to ever sign with Oregon. The Orem, Utah native was recruited by basically every school in the country, and his decision to join the Ducks could help create an incredibly strong pipeline of OL recruits going forward.
His role on this team as a true freshman is undefined, making it hard to know if he’ll be a freshman All-American performer, but if he gets a shot to start he has the talent to really turn some heads in the trenches.
