No. 12 – CB Derek Stingley, Minnesota Vikings
Despite the recent resources they’ve invested at the position, the Vikings still need more help at corner, and this scenario is a fantastic way to make that happen. Stingley’s film is inconsistent, and his injury-riddled 2021 campaign begs durability questions, but there’s no denying his skill set and potential.
Stingley had 38 tackles and six interceptions as a true freshman, but he hasn’t picked off a pass since last season. Still, he’s an incredibly talented prospect at the position. If healthy, he should be a high quality player at the next level.
The Vikings signed veteran Patrick Peterson last offseason and has seen decent returns from Cameron Dantzler, a third-round pick from Mississippi State in 2020. But Peterson is not what he used to be, and they need another starting-caliber player. Stingley would fit that bill.
