The LSU Tigers may have finished the season with a flat overall record of 5-5, but there were some bright spots and players who set the foundation for the team to make strides for next season.
Those players have received no shortage of recognition for their accomplishments — two of those being kicker Cade York and cornerback Elias Ricks.
Both players were named to the AP All-America team this week, with York receiving second-team honors and Ricks receiving third-team honors.
York is following in former LSU kicker Cole Tracy’s footsteps, setting the record for the longest field goal in team history with a 57-yarder in LSU’s 37-34 upset victory on the road over the then No. 6-ranked Florida Gators.

Cornerback Elias Ricks has also shown out this season, recording 20 tackles (11 solo) with five passes defensed, four interceptions and two touchdowns on his freshman year at LSU.
York and Ricks were also recognized when Pro Football Focus released its All-SEC team this month.
Expect both players to continue their success when LSU opens the upcoming football season on Sept. 4 against UCLA at Rose Bowl Stadium.
