When the 2024 College Football season gets underway, the UCLA Bruins will be members of the Big Ten conference. The Big Ten is going to be full of competition right away when the season starts.
The Michigan Wolverines are the defending national champions, and Washington Huskies lost in the title game. Both teams are out of the Big Ten now.
There is talent all up and down the Big Ten, on both sides of the ball. Patrick Conn College Sports Wire did a recent ranking of the Top 10 quarterbacks in College Football heading into the season, and two of them will be playing in the Big Ten this season.
Dillon Gabriel of the Oregon Ducks came into the rankings third:
Gabriel is coming off a career year with the Oklahoma Sooners in 2023, where he set career highs in completion percentage, yards, yards per attempt, and rushing touchdowns. The southpaw is a very mobile quarterback that can extend plays with his legs or tuck the ball and get upfield. He should fit right in with the Ducks and put up similar numbers to that of Bo Nix.
Will Rogers of the Washington Huskies is listed 8th on the list:
After four productive season at Mississippi State, Rogers leaves for the Big Ten with the Washington Huskies. Last season wasn’t the best for the Bulldogs all-time leading passer due to injuries. Given the success for quarterbacks under Fisch, one should expect to see Rogers among the best in the nation once again. He will be joined by a new group of receivers for the Huskies.
The first game of the season is Thursday, August 29th, as North Carolina is at Minnesota. The first conference game will be held in Week 2. The UCLA Bruins take on Indiana that week.
