The Green Bay Packers can enter next week’s bye with a perfect 4-0 record if they can beat the visiting and winless Atlanta Falcons at Lambeau Field on Monday night.
Here’s how the staff at Packers Wire believes the Week 4 matchup with the Falcons will go down:
Zach Kruse (2-1): Packers 38, Falcons 28
Points shouldn’t be hard to come by. These offenses have been productive and explosive to start the 2020 season, and both defenses are riddled with question marks. The guess here is that the Packers are much better equipped to win a shootout, especially at home and especially when comparing the pass-rushes and secondaries. It wouldn’t be surprising if the Falcons bring a bunch of energy early, but the Packers are just playing too well on offense to think they won’t score a bunch of points against a bad defense and run away it at some point.
Jack Wepfer (2-1): Packers 40, Falcons 31
I thought the Packers would drop the ball last week, but this offense is good because, well, it’s consistently good. The difference between these two good offenses is that the Falcons just have less to work with on defense. Grady Jarrett is good. Marlon Davidson is a nice piece. But they don’t have an established pass rush on the edges, nor do they have enough reliable cover guys in my estimation. Therefore the Packers win in another high-scoring game.
Marty Kauffman (3-0): Packers 35, Falcons 21
The Packers could be without their top two receivers on Monday if Davante Adams is out again but I still feel confident Green Bay can put up 30 plus points and win by double digits. The offense has been in sync and I see it continuing Monday night with a red hot Aaron Rodgers, a dynamic Aaron Jones and excellent play-calling from Matt LaFleur. The only question is how can the defense avoid giving up big plays and find ways to get pressure and turnovers.
Anthony Nash (3-0): Packers 31, Falcons 24
The Packers offense has been one of the NFL’s best throughout the first 3 weeks of the season, but may hit a snag this week. Not only will the team potentially be without Davante Adams, but Allen Lazard is also set to miss an indefinite amount of time. Despite this, however, the Packers are in prime position to improve to 4-0 ahead of their bye, as the Falcons are coming into Lambeau Field with one of the leagues worst defenses and reeling after multiple rough losses.
Nolan Stracke (3-0): Packers 35, Falcons 24
The Packers’ offense is simply too good to be outmatched by the Falcons. Now it’s not that the Falcons are a bad team, it’s that they are prone to mistakes. The Packers defense should get a couple of turnovers and the offense will likely still roll even without Lazard and maybe Adams. The Falcons should be able to put points on the board, but not as much as Rodgers and Co.
Joe Kipp (3-0): Packers 41, Falcons 27
Scoring 30 points per week should be the standard going forward for the Packers offense. Green Bay ranks 1st in the NFL in points per game (40.7) and yards per play (6.9), and 2nd in yards per game (459.7). They’ll face an atrocious Falcons defense that ranks 31st in yards allowed (463.3). Coupled with some injuries in their secondary, Atlanta should have a tough time stopping Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense, despite the fact Green Bay will be without Allen Lazard and possibly Davante Adams.
Grant Matheny (3-0): Packers 35, Falcons 31
I think that this ends up being a high scoring, entertaining game between two explosive offenses. Even though the Falcons are 0-3, they have been competitive in each game so far. After getting tested by Atlanta, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay offense are going to be able to make a couple of key plays in the fourth quarter. I also think that the Packers defense will bend, but not break in this matchup.
