Packers training camp report: Live updates from Practice No. 6 in 2024

Live updates from the sixth training camp practice for the Packers on Sunday, July 28, 2024.

Welcome to the sixth day of training camp for the Green Bay Packers. Quarterback Jordan Love shook off some early rust on Saturday morning before leading an impressive touchdown drive in the two-minute sequence. Can Love and the offense continue stacking success on Sunday?

Coach Matt LaFleur said the team will go through some 1-on-1 drills and more two-minute work during practice on Sunday.

So, what will Day 6 bring at Ray Nitschke Field?

Here’s everything to know from Sunday, July 28th, the sixth training camp practice of 2024:

Matt LaFleur pre-practice press conference

LaFleur admitted Love was working through some “rust” early on during Saturday’s practice, but he “finished strong.”

The Packers will do a short version of 1-on-1s on Sunday. They’ll do them again at a higher volume next Wednesday. The Packers will also do “two-minute, end of game” work on Sunday.

The Packers are still working through new kickoff rules. Helps having officials at practice. Joint practices and preseason games will provide more clarity.

LaFleur confirmed the entire team is staying in a hotel during camp. Same set up as last year. “Go through something miserable together, brings you closer.”

“I’m really excited about both of those guys,” LaFleur said about rookie safeties Javon Bullard and Evan Williams. Excited about information retention. Highlighted versatility for both. Really competitive position.

LaFleur said Jordan Morgan has played mostly at guard during training camp. “He’s starting to feel more and more comfortable inside, but he’s talented enough — if need be — if we need to kick him outside, he can do that.”

Injury updates

Josh Myers is back at practice, per Andy Herman. Myers missed the last two practices while dealing with a personal matter.

Elgton Jenkins is getting another veteran rest day. Zayne Anderson (knee), Deslin Alexandre (leg contusion) and Keshawn Banks (groin) will not practice Sunday, per Rob Demovsky.

Live news and updates from practice

The Packers have NFL officials at practice. New rule emphasis for 2024 will be presented.

Strong start for Jordan Morgan in 1-on-1s. He took on Devonte Wyatt and won two reps, per Ryan Wood.

Love hits net in quarterback individual work. I’m reminded of a video that went around during Love’s rookie season when he badly missed a net during an indoor practice. Look how far he’s come. It makes you wonder…how many quarterbacks have been irreparably damaged in the NFL?

Could seventh-round pick Kalen King make some training camp noise? He had a pick-six against Jordan Love on Sunday, per Andy Herman.

Another pick thrown by Sean Clifford, but another interception made by rookie Evan Williams, per Wed Hodkiewicz. This one ended the second-team offense’s two-minute sequence. Williams has made a lot of flash plays through six practices.
