Aaron Rodgers didn’t look 37 years old on the Green Bay Packers’ opening touchdown drive against Washington on Sunday.
Rodgers completed 7-of-8 passes, including a vintage 17-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams, and he even scrambled for 15 yards on a 3rd-and-11 play.
The scoring play was Rodgers at his very best. On 4th-and-3 in the red zone, Rodgers bought time to right to extend the play before throwing back to the middle of the field to Adams, who uncovered late in the play.
The Packers’ scoring drive traveled 75 yards in 13 plays. The march took 7:49 off the clock to start the contest.
Rodgers hit Adams twice on the drive, including a 15-yard completion on the first play of the game. Aaron Jones gained 20 yards on five touches.
Rodgers’ passer rating on the opening drive was 135.4. The Packers took the first lead of a game for the first time since Week 3.
