The Green Bay Packers swapped a cornerback for a wide receiver on the 85-man roster entering Saturday’s preseason game against the New York Jets.
The team announced the signing of wide receiver Damon Hazelton and the release of cornerback Dominique Martin.
Hazelton (6-3, 206) is an undrafted rookie free agent. He was with the Houston Texans from May 14 to Aug. 11.
Hazelton, who played for Ball State, Virginia Tech and Missouri over four seasons, caught 163 passes for 2,231 yards and 21 touchdowns in college. He was an All-ACC selection in both 2018 and 2019.
The Packers may need the depth at receiver with Devin Funchess and Juwann Winfree both nursing injuries.
The Packers signed Martin just eight days ago. He played 15 snaps on defense and eight more on special teams during the Packers’ preseason opener against the Texans.
