The Green Bay Packers added depth at tight end on Tuesday.
The team announced the signing of tight end Tyler Davis off the practice squad of the Indianapolis Colts.
Davis (6-4, 252) was originally a sixth-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020. He was waived by the Jaguars on Aug. 31 after playing in eight games as a rookie.
The Packers released Jace Sternberger and placed Dominique Dafney on injured reserve last week, creating the need for depth at tight end. The team found what it was looking for on the Colts practice squad.
Last season, Davis played 40 snaps on offense and 76 more on special teams for the Jaguars. He was targeted twice but did not make a catch.
During the preseason, Davis caught five passes on six targets for 34 yards and a touchdown.
Davis will wear No. 84 for the Packers.
