Packers sign sixth-round pick Jon Runyan to rookie deal

The Packers have signed their fourth of nine draft picks, agreeing to a rookie deal with OL Jon Runyan.

The Green Bay Packers signed another draft pick, agreeing to a rookie deal with sixth-round pick Jon Runyan.

The signing was first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN. Agent Ken Sarnoff confirmed the signing on Twitter.

The Packers made Runyan the 192nd overall pick in the 2020 draft. He was the team’s first of three sixth-round picks, joining center Jake Hanson and offensive lineman Simon Stepaniak.

Runyan, the son of Pro Bowl offensive tackle Jon Runyan Sr., started 26 games at Michigan and made two straight All-Big Ten teams. He will move to guard for the Packers.

Over the Cap estimates Runyan’s four-year deal to be worth $3.47 million, with a signing bonus of just under $175,000 and a cap hit in 2020 of just over $650,000.

The Packers have now signed Runyan, Stepaniak, seventh-round pick Vernon Scott and seventh-round pick Jonathan Garvin. They still have to sign quarterback Jordan Love, running back A.J. Dillon, tight end Josiah Deguara, linebacker Kamal Martin and Hanson.
