An injury suffered during Monday’s practice is keeping Green Bay Packers rookie center Cole Schneider out of Tuesday’s padded practice.
Schneider, who went down during a team drill on Monday, has an ankle injury, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.
The severity of the injury is unknown. Coach Matt LaFleur did not make mention of the issue before Tuesday’s practice.
Schneider (6-3, 309) is an undrafted free agent from UCF who is fighting for a roster spot along the interior of the offensive line. He started 47 games at UCF – 46 at guard, and one at center – and was a three-time all-conference selection.
Missing practice time – especially now that the Packers are in pads – could hurt Schneider’s chances of making the team, but he’s always been an ideal practice squad candidate.
The Packers are in pads for the first time on Tuesday.
