Packers return 3 players, including LB Quay Walker, to practice on Thursday

The Packers returned LB Quay Walker, LG Elgton Jenkins and C Josh Myers to practice on Thursday.

The Green Bay Packers returned three starters, including linebacker Quay Walker, to the practice field on Thursday. According to Wes Hodkiewicz of the team’s official site, Walker, left guard Elgton Jenkins and center Josh Myers all returned to practice after missing Wednesday’s session.

Walker is advancing through the league’s concussion protocol after suffering the head injury on a scary-looking play Sunday.

Jenkins is dealing with a glute injury, while Myers has a wrist injury. Both were new injuries to start this week.

Per Hodkiewicz, the only player not practicing on Thursday is cornerback Corey Ballentine, who has an ankle injury.

The Packers got through last week’s win with Edgerrin Cooper, Isaiah McDuffie and Eric Wilson at linebacker after Walker — the team’s leader in tackles — went out on the 13th defensive play.

The return of Jenkins and Myers could help the Packers prevent what would be a major shuffling of the offensive line. Myers is the starting center, and Jenkins has been the starting left guard and the team’s top option as the backup center. It’s unclear how the Packers would have assembled the offensive line if Jenkins and Myers were both unavailable.

More good news on the injury front: defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt was available to practice for the second consecutive day. That’s a good sign after he returned Wednesday for the first time since suffering an ankle injury in Week 4. Wyatt, who had three sacks in the first four weeks, is trending towards making a return on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Packers will provide a final injury report with playing status designations on Friday afternoon.
