Packers RB Josh Jacobs says Jordan Love will be ‘next superstar in this league’

It didn’t take long for Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs to see the special potential of quarterback Jordan Love.

After spending the entire offseason workout program with his new quarterback, Jacobs believes Love is ready to ascend to superstardom.

“To me, just from what I’ve seen, he has all the traits and all the tools to be a superstar in this league,” Jacobs said, via NFL.com. “I think that as he keeps continuing to play and gets experience and becomes more confident in his abilities and what he can do, he’s going to be the next superstar in this league, for sure.”

This is hardly the first time a new teammate has hyped a quarterback during the summer. It happens around the league every year. Jacobs, a two-time Pro Bowler, hasn’t exactly been surrounded by elite quarterback play during his NFL career, either.

But special players can often see special in others, and Love’s second half of the 2023 season — when he helped will the Packers to the postseason — provides more than enough evidence for Love’s potential to be special as a quarterback. The Packers are about to pay Love like a future superstar, too.

Given his faith in Love, it’s no surprise that Jacobs believes the “sky is the limit” for the Packers offense. Stability at quarterback, a solid offensive line and talented weapons at running back, receiver and tight end give Matt LaFleur — now a veteran playcaller — all the ingredients he should need to put together one of the NFL’s elite offenses in 2024 and beyond.

Jacobs, the 2022 rushing champion, signed a four-year deal to join the Packers this offseason. He will replace Aaron Jones, one of the best rushers in team history. Can Jacobs, a special player in his own right, help Love continue down his path to stardom?

“I think it’s going to be a special year,” Jacobs said.
