Packers RB Aaron Jones (questionable) unlikely to play vs. Raiders

Packers RB Aaron Jones, who was listed as questionable for MNF, is unlikely to play against the Raiders.

Despite returning last week and the expectation of ramping up in his second game back from a hamstring injury, Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones — who is listed as questionable — is “unlikely to go” against the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Pelissero notes Jones made the trip to Las Vegas and his status is “up in the air.” It’s possible Jones will be a game-time decision. Gameday inactives are due 90 minutes before kickoff, or around 5:45 p.m. CT.

Jones, who handled six touches over 20 snaps 11 days ago against the Detroit Lions, was a limited participant during all three practices this week. He missed games against the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints after injuring his hamstring at the end of a touchdown run in the second half of Week 1 vs. the Chicago Bears.

It’s unclear if Jones suffered a setback or if the injury is lingering far longer than expected. The Packers have a bye coming out of Monday night and don’t play again until Oct. 22 vs. the Denver Broncos, which might incentivize the Packers to sit him against the Raiders so the injury can fully heal over the bye.

If Jones can’t play, A.J. Dillon would be the expected starter and lead back vs. the Raiders. Dillon, now in his fourth season, is averaging 2.7 yards per carry over 44 rushes this season. Rookie Emanuel Wilson is the only other running back on the roster.
