Packers RB Aaron Jones leads NFL with 19 total TDs

No player in the NFL has more total TDs this season than Packers RB Aaron Jones.

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones will enter Week 17 as the NFL leader in total touchdowns in 2019.

Jones scored a pair of touchdowns in the second half of Monday night’s 23-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings, giving him 19 total touchdowns this season – one more than Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey.

Jones gave the Packers the lead in the third quarter when he sprinted off the left side and found the end zone from 12 yards out. A quarter later, he worked through traffic, found a lane and burst down the sideline for a 56-yard score.

Jones finished the 23-10 win with 23 carries for 154 yards and the two touchdowns.

With one game to go, Jones ranks tied for 30th in NFL history and tied for second in Packers history (Jim Taylor) in total touchdowns in a season.

Jones now has a real opportunity to join a rare club of players in NFL history. Only 24 players in the league’s history have scored 20 or more total touchdowns in a single season.

The last player to get to 20 total touchdowns was Todd Gurley last season. The last (and only) Packer to get to 20 total touchdowns was Ahman Green in 2003.

The Packers finish the 2019 season on Sunday against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.

Here are both of Jones’ touchdowns from Monday night:
