Some good news for the Green Bay Packers on the injury front: running back Aaron Jones has avoided a significant ankle injury and could be available to play this week against the Dallas Cowboys.
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, tests done on Jones’ ankle on Monday came back “clean” and it’s now possible he’ll practice this week.
Jones left Sunday’s loss to the Detroit Lions in the second half. He wanted to return to the game but was advised against it, and the Packers finished the game with A.J. Dillon and Kylin Hill at running back.
Jones rushed nine times for 25 yards and caught two passes for 20 yards. He played 30 total snaps.
In nine games, Jones has 600 rushing yards and 810 total yards.
The news wasn’t good for star edge rusher Rashan Gary, who is expected to miss the rest of the 2022 season after tearing his ACL.
