Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is Packers Wire’s player of the game for Week 4 of the 2020 season.
Rodgers completed over 80 percent of his attempts and threw four touchdown passes, including three to tight end Robert Tonyan, helping the Packers blowout the visiting Atlanta Falcons on Monday night at Lambeau Field.
Even without receivers Davante Adams and Allen Lazard, Rodgers was prolific and nearly perfect, completing 27 of 33 passes for 327 yards. He averaged 9.9 yards per attempt and 12.2 per completion, didn’t have an interception and finished with a passer rating of 147.5.
Rodgers connected with running backs Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams 13 times for 135 yards and a touchdown. Tonyan caught all six of his targets for a career-high 98 yards, including touchdowns of 19 yards, eight yards and 21 yards.
Three of Rodgers’ four touchdown passes came in the first half as the Packers built a commanding 20-3 lead. After the Falcons cut the lead to 20-9, Rodgers hit Tonyan for a third score to all but put the game away in the third quarter.
Through four games, Rodgers has completed 91 of 139 passes (70.5%) for 1,214 yards, 13 touchdowns and zero interceptions, good for a 124.2 passer rating.
