The COVID-19 issues for the Green Bay Packers keep accelerating.
Not only is defensive coordinator Joe Barry out after testing positive for COVID-19, but the Packers placed All-Pro receiver Davante Adams on the COVID-19 reserve list on Monday.
Adams could easily miss Thursday night’s game against the undefeated Arizona Cardinals. Teams do not disclose why a player is placed on the reserve list; it could be a positive test or close contact with an infected person. Adams is vaccinated and would require two negative tests in a row to play on Thursday night.
Not having him available could be a massive blow for the Packers. Through seven games, Adams has 52 catches for 744 yards and three touchdowns. He ranks second in the NFL in catches and third in receiving yards.
The Packers are currently in advanced COVID protocols, meaning daily tests and masks and social distancing inside the facilities for all players and staff.
The team is conducting everything virtually on Monday.
The Packers already have receiver Malik Taylor on the COVID-19 reserve list.
