The Green Bay Packers will be without second-year tight end Josiah Deguara to start training camp.
The team placed Deguara on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list on Friday, according to the league’s transaction report.
Deguara, a third-round pick of the Packers in 2020, tore his ACL in Week 5 and missed the rest of his rookie season. He played 31 offensive snaps over two games, catching one pass for 12 yards.
During the offseason workout program practices open to reporters, Deguara worked off to the side in the rehab group.
The Packers can take Deguara off of the PUP list at any time. Players that start training camp on the PUP list and remain there throughout the preseason can start the regular season on the PUP list, which would mean missing the first six weeks of the season.
