The Green Bay Packers are road favorites in Week 5 for the second time this season, but Matt LaFleur’s team will attempt to create a different final outcome on Sunday in Cincinnati.
According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Packers are 3.5-point favorites for Sunday’s trip to play the Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium.
The first time the Packers were road favorites in 2021, the team laid an egg in Jacksonville to open the season. The Packers were 3.5-point favorites but lost by 35 points to the Saints.
LaFleur’s team has won three straight games since the Week 1 disaster, including a win in San Francisco as a road underdog.
The Bengals are also 3-1 but have been underdogs four times in the first five weeks. They were favored to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night last week and ended up winning by a field goal. Cincinnati is now 2-0 at home.
The Packers and Bengals are uncommon opponents. The two teams have only played twice since 2013, splitting the two games 1-1.
On the injury front, Bengals running back Joe Mixon is dealing with an ankle injury and has an uncertain playing status for Sunday. He’s third in the NFL in rushing yards. But the Packers are really hurting, with David Bakhtiari on the PUP list, Za’Darius Smith on IR, Elgton Jenkins still working through an ankle injury and Jaire Alexander’s status unknown.
Can the Packers overcome all the injuries and win a fourth straight game? The oddsmakers think so.
