Packers open as underdogs to undefeated Cardinals in Week 8

The Packers opened the week as 3.5-point underdogs to the Cardinals in Week 8, per @Tipico.

The Green Bay Packers have won six games in a row but will be an underdog  for the first time since Week 3 when Matt LaFleur’s team travels to Arizona to play the unbeaten Cardinals on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 8.

The Packers opened the week as 3.5-point underdogs, according to Tipico Sportsbook.

A tough test awaits. Not only are the Cardinals the last undefeated team in football, but the Packers must travel roughly 1,500 miles from Green Bay to Phoenix on a short week. A long road trip with only a few days of prep and recovery is always difficult, regardless of the opponent.

The Packers haven’t been an underdog since traveling to San Francisco to play the 49ers in primetime last month. Green Bay won the game, 30-28.

Last week, the Packers beat the Washington Football Team at home, while the Cardinals took down the Houston Texans in Arizona.

LaFleur has never faced the Cardinals as Packers coach. The last these two teams met, the Cardinals scored an upset at Lambeau Field in December of 2018, directly leading to the firing of coach Mike McCarthy.

Overall, the Packers are 6-1 against the spread this season. The Cardinals are also 6-1 against the spread.
