Packers open as 3.5-point underdogs to 49ers in Week 3

The Packers will be an underdog for the first time in 2021 when they head west to play the 49ers in Week 3.

After beating the Detroit Lions by 18 points as an 11.5-point favorite in Week 2, the Green Bay Packers will open Week 3 as a slight underdog.

According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Packers are beginning the week as 3.5-point road underdogs to the San Francisco 49ers.

The Packers and 49ers will play at Levi’s Stadium on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 3.

The 49ers are 2-0 and were favored in each game to start the season. Kyle Shanahan’s team beat the Detroit Lions by eight points on the road in Week 1 and then beat the Philadelphia Eagles by six points on the road in Week 2. Sunday night will be the 49ers’ home opener at Levi’s Stadium.

The Packers trounced the injury-riddled 49ers in San Francisco last season but were beaten soundly in both appearances at Levi Stadium in 2019.

On Monday night, the Packers raced past the Lions and covered the spread after a shaky start in the first half. Matt LaFleur’s team also lost by 35 points as a slight favorite on the road against the New Orleans Saints in Week 1.

The Packers were 2-1 as underdogs last season, with wins over the Minnesota Vikings and Saints and a loss on the road to the Indianapolis Colts. Since LaFleur took over as coach in 2019, the Packers have four straight-up wins as an underdog.

Packers Wire will update the spread and odds if any changes are made by Tipico during the week.
