Packers officially rule out LT David Bakhtiari (chest) vs. Texans

The Packers will be without their All-Pro left tackle on Sunday against the Texans.

The Green Bay Packers will be without their All-Pro left tackle on Sunday against the Houston Texans.

The team officially downgraded David Bakhtiari to out for Sunday’s game due to a chest injury. He didn’t travel with the team to Houston. The Packers originally listed Bakhtiari as doubtful.

A four-time All-Pro, Bakhtiari will miss his first start since Week 5 of 2017. He had started 50 straight games, including the playoffs.

It’s unclear who the Packers will use to replace Bakhtiari at left tackle. The team has options with veterans Rick Wagner and Billy Turner, who both have tackle experience, and second-year left guard Elgton Jenkins, who started at right tackle in Week 1.

Bakhtiari joins defensive lineman Tyler Lancaster and running back Tyler Ervin as players ruled out for Sunday. Cornerback Kevin King and safety Darnell Savage are still doubtful.
