Packers listing QB Jordan Love as questionable to play vs. Lions in Week 9

The Green Bay Packers are listing quarterback Jordan Love as questionable to play for Sunday’s NFC North showdown with the Detroit Lions.

Love, who injured his groin in last week’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, missed practice on Wednesday but returned to practice in a limited capacity on Thursday and Friday this week.

“He’ll be questionable for the game,” coach Matt LaFleur said Friday.

Love was previously listed as questionable in Week 3 and Week 4 after injuring his MCL. He sat out the Packers’ win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 3 but returned to play during the Packers’ loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4.

“We will give him up to game time to see how he’s feeling,” LaFleur said.

Earlier this week, Love said he wanted to be able to move in and out of the pocket to play Sunday. His limited mobility and inability to protect himself were reasons why he didn’t finish last week’s win over the Jaguars despite playing through the injury for roughly two quarters.

Love’s backup is Malik Willis, who went 2-0 as a starter with Love out earlier this season. He also led the Packers on a game-winning drive last week in Jacksonville.

Inactives are due 90 minutes before kickoff, so the next update on Love will arrive at roughly 1:55 p.m. CST on Sunday. The Packers and Lions kickoff from Lambeau Field at 3:25 p.m.
