Packers list 3, including Jamaal Williams and Danny Vitale, as doubtful for season finale vs. Lions

The Packers will likely be without RB Jamaal Williams and FB Danny Vitale for Sunday’s season finale against the Lions.

The Green Bay Packers will be light in the backfield going into the season finale.

The Packers are expecting to be without running back Jamaal Williams and fullback Danny Vitale for Sunday’s Week 17 showdown with the Detroit Lions. Both players missed practice on Thursday and Friday and are listed as doubtful: Williams with a shoulder injury and Vitale with a knee injury.

Safety Will Redmond, who also missed the last two days of practice with a hamstring injury, is also listed as doubtful.

Receiver Jake Kumerow has an illness and is questionable.

If Williams and Vitale can’t go, the Packers will have to rely on Aaron Jones, rookie Dexter Williams and newcomer Tyler Ervin at running back in Detroit.

Coach Matt LaFleur confirmed the Packers would likely hold out Williams, who injured his shoulder in the team’s 23-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night. If the Packers beat the Lions, Williams would have two weeks to rest the injury before playing in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs.

The Lions listed five players as questionable: linebacker Devon Kennard, linebacker Steve Longa, kicker Matt Prater, offensive tackle Rick Wagner and safety Tavon Wilson. Defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson is out.

The Packers and Lions are scheduled for a noon kickoff from Ford Field on Sunday.
