The Green Bay Packers still aren’t allowing general attendance at games inside Lambeau Field, but some special guests will be in the stands during Saturday night’s primetime clash against the Carolina Panthers.
The team announced Thursday that 250 frontline workers have been invited to Lambeau Field for the contest in an attempt to show appreciation for their efforts fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in the community.
From Packers team president Mark Murphy: “We are looking forward to welcoming this group of frontline workers and their families to the game on Saturday night. We are so thankful and appreciative of all they have done for our community during this challenging time. While we cannot invite large numbers of these special guests due to the pandemic, we want to express our community’s collective appreciation for all their great work.”
The Packers say the group includes healthcare workers and first responders from around the Green Bay area.
Team employees and family members will also be in attendance on Saturday, potentially creating the biggest home crowd of this season.
The Packers still haven’t decided about whether a select number of fans will be allowed for the team’s playoff game at Lambeau Field next month. The team clinched the NFC North title, guaranteeing at least one home playoff game.
