NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed Wednesday that any and all fans attending games this season will be required to wear a face covering.
The Green Bay Packers already announced that they’ll require masks if fans are allowed to attend games at Lambeau Field this season. Now, all teams will be mandated to require fans to wear masks at games.
The team is still finalizing protocols for the in-game experience but masks will be required, save for when the fan is eating or drinking. The Packers are also expecting to have significantly reduced seating capacity at Lambeau Field, plus more cleaning measures and hand sanitation services at the stadium.
The team may also prohibit tailgating in Lambeau Field lots.
The Packers already sent out a pair of masks to each season-ticket holder.
Packers president Mark Murphy urged fans to wear masks and socially distance while out in the community.
“We ask our fans to help us in this effort by wearing masks and staying six feet away from non-family members when out in the community in the coming weeks,” Murphy said last week.
The team also used first-round pick Jordan Love to promote the use of masks.

From the team: “The Packers are planning to make necessary adjustments in order to conduct games in as safe a manner as possible in the best interest of fans, players and team and league personnel. All preparations are being made with the latest advice of medical and public health officials and are subject to change.”
