Packers claim OT Luke Tenuta off waivers from Colts

The Packers claimed 2022 sixth-round pick Luke Tenuta off waivers from the Colts.

After one of the worst overall performances from the offensive line in the Matt LaFleur era, the Green Bay Packers are adding some help to the position group on waivers.

The Packers claimed rookie offensive tackle Luke Tenuta off of waivers from the Indianapolis Colts, according to agent Kenny Zuckerman.

Tenuta (6-8, 319) is a sixth-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2022. He was released by the Bills at final cuts on August 30 and claimed by the Colts a day later.

The Packers have an open roster spot after placing Tipa Galeai on injured reserve and may need the depth along the offensive line with Jake Hanson now nursing a biceps injury.

Through six weeks of the regular season, Tenuta has not played a snap from scrimmage.

The Virginia Tech product started 26 games in college.

During the preseason, Tenuta played 152 snaps, including 29 at left tackle and 123 at right tackle. He allowed eight pressures and committed three penalties.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, Tenuta ran the 40-yard dash in 5.41 seconds, hit 26″ in the vertical leap, covered 8-8 in the broad jump and finished the short shuttle in 4.77 seconds. He has 32 7/8″ arms and 10 1/8″ hands.

The Colts released Tenuta to make room for receiver Keke Coutee on the 53-man roster on Saturday.

Tenuta will need to pass a physical in Green Bay before officially signing with the Packers.
