Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander came off the COVID-19 reserve list and practiced with the team on Friday.
Alexander was originally placed on the list last Sunday.
It’s possible Alexander will be given a roster exemption for Friday that will expire Saturday, meaning the official activation won’t come until tomorrow.
The Packers will then have to decide if Alexander is ready to play Sunday in the season finale. Coach Matt LaFleur will likely be asked about his availability following practice.
The All-Pro cornerback hasn’t played since injuring his shoulder in Week 4, but he could be nearing a return. The last hurdle for Alexander will be proving he’s ready to tackle using the injured shoulder.
Even if Alexander isn’t ready for Sunday, he could still return for the NFC Divisional Round in two weeks.
Packers right tackle Billy Turner remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list as of Friday. Defensive lineman Kingsley Keke is still out while recovering from an illness.
