The Green Bay Packers (5-2) don’t have much time to regroup after a disappointing loss to the Minnesota Vikings (2-5) on Sunday. The San Fransisco 49ers (4-4) await on the West Coast for a Thursday night matchup.
Both teams will enter this game short-handed. The 49ers will be without starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and star tight end George Kittle. Receiver Deebo Samuel and running backs Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman will also be out. If the Packers have a window to beat the 49ers, this would be the week. After the poor showing last week, however, it won’t be a walk in the park for Green Bay.
The Packers will have some holes to fill themselves since we already know AJ Dillon, Jamaal Williams, and Kamal Martin will not play due to COVID-19 precautions. If Aaron Jones’ calf injury doesn’t improve, it looks like the running back duties will fall to Tyler Ervin and Dexter Williams.
FOX will broadcast the game before a nationally televised audience. It will also be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Joe Buck (play-by-play) will be joined by Troy Aikman (analyst) in the booth with Erin Andrews reporting from the sidelines. Mike Pereira will be on hand for officiating analysis.
The game can be heard over Milwaukee’s WTMJ (620 AM) and the Packers Radio Network, which is made up of 50 stations in five states. Wayne Larrivee (play-by-play) and Larry McCarren (analyst) will call the action over the air with former Packer John Kuhn reporting from the sidelines. The matchup will also be broadcasted by Westwood One Sports and Sirius Satellite Radio.
