Packers add CB Kevin King (Achilles) to injury report

King’s long-awaited return might be in jeopardy.

The long-awaited return of Green Bay Packers cornerback Kevin King might be in jeopardy.

The Packers made King a late addition to the injury report on Saturday, listing him as questionable with a new Achilles injury.

King, the team’s starting cornerback opposite Jaire Alexander, has missed five straight games with a quad injury. He practiced fully all week and wasn’t given an injury designation on Friday.

King started each of the first four games. He broke up 15 passes and intercepted five in 2020. A free agent after this season, King has missed 23 games due to injury since entering the NFL in 2017.

The Packers also added punter JK Scott to the injury report with a personal issue and added punter Drew Kaser to the 53-man roster. The team only elevated running back Mike Weber from the practice squad, potentially suggesting King’s issue isn’t serious.

The Packers haven’t had King and Alexander on the field since Week 4. Alexander, who missed last week with a concussion, will return on Sunday.[listicle id=53222]
