Pac-12 analyst says Jonah Monheim is a top-four offensive lineman in the league

Monheim is expected to be the starting left tackle for the season opener on August 26 versus San Jose State.

The USC Trojans’ offensive line is a talented group that needs to come together with a number of transfers in the mix this season. Nonetheless, Jack Follman of SuperWest Sports ranked the 12 best offensive linemen in the Pac-12 Conference, and the Trojans had three players on the list.

First on the list is Jonah Monheim, who slots in at No. 4. Here’s what Follman wrote: “Monheim emerged in 2022 as a great pass blocker in Lincoln Riley’s scheme. Expect him to rack up honors in 2023.”

It will be fascinating to see where Monheim ultimately settles in along the offensive line. The coaches have discussed playing him at left tackle, and he seems to be making the adjustment in preseason camp. However, he could still be re-slotted to another spot along the line as the season evolves. Regardless of where he plays along the line, Monheim has shown he is a team-first player who is ready and willing to do whatever Josh Henson and Lincoln Riley need from him. Monheim is a coachable, home-grown product the team and coaching staff can rely on.
