Outfielder Jackson Strong is transferring from Canisius to Kentucky baseball

Canisius outfielder Jackson Strong is transferring to Kentucky baseball for next season.

Kentucky baseball is in the midst of a magical season, and their recent success is attracting some solid players in the transfer portal, like pitcher Scott Rouse. Now, they’ve added a position player. outfielder Jackson Strong, formerly of Canisius.

Strong played for three seasons for the Golden Griffins beginning in 2022. He became a regular player as a Sophomore, hitting .357 with 13 homeruns and 43 RBIs. Last year, he was once again very good, hitting .350 with 11 homers and 34 driven in. He also flashed his speed, stealing 41 bases.

With an OPS over 1.100 in each of his last two seasons, Strong has proven to be one of the better players in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Now, he’ll bring those talents to Lexington.

The Wildcats are trying to make it to the College World Series for the first time ever, and have made it to the super regionals for two consecutive seasons. That kind of success makes players want to play for them. Jackson Strong is a very good player, and a very good get for Kentucky baseball.
