The up-and-down season of the Pac-12 season continues and that is reflected in the latest USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Top 25 Poll.
With the 48-7 win over Stony Brook, Oregon stays at No. 4, but the point total has changed. In last week’s poll, the Ducks were nearly 100 points behind Oklahoma, but that distance has been cut. Now Oregon is just two votes away from the Sooners, who had a tough time beating a lowly Nebraska team at home.
To say it wasn’t a banner day for the ranked Pac-12 teams is an understatement.
UCLA dropped 11 spots to No. 24 after Fresno State stunned the Bruins 40-37. Oregon knows how tough the Bulldogs are and now quarterback Jake Haener finally has that signature win. Fresno State enters the poll for the first time at No. 25.
Formerly No. 19 Arizona State dropped out of the poll as the Sun Devils were dumped at BYU 27-17.
USC and Stanford still remain out of the poll despite big wins this week over Washington State and Vanderbilt, respectively.
