Oregon Ducks hire defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi on 3-year, $5.1 million contract

The Oregon Ducks have hired defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi on a 3-year, $5.1 million contract with incentives.

The Oregon Ducks made the hiring of defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi official on Wednesday afternoon.

Lupoi, who is currently the Jacksonville Jaguars defensive line coach, is joining Dan Lanning’s staff and has agreed to a three-year contract worth $1.7 million annually, $5.1 million in total.

Because the total money of Lupoi’s salary exceeds $5 million, the board must vote to accept.

On top of the annual salary, there are a number of incentives within the contract for Lupoi, which were laid out in the Oregon Board of Trustees meeting notes:

  • Win Pac-12 North Division $10,000
  • Win Pac-12 Championship Game $15,000
  • Compete in any Bowl Game (and win at least 7 regular-season games) $15,000
  • Compete In CFP NY6 (Orange, Cotton, Peach, Fiesta, Rose, Sugar) Bowl Game $15,000
  • Compete In CFP NY6 Bowl Game Designated as CFP Semi-Final Game $10,000
  • Win CFP Semi-Final Game $25,000
  • Win CFP National Championship $35,000
  • Academic Progress Rate Goal $5,000
