The previous decade wasn’t kind to the Oakland Raiders. The team had just one winning season (2016) and failed to win a playoff game. But things appear to be heading in the right direction for the Raiders as they are inching closer to becoming a playoff team under Jon Gruden.
Over the last few weeks, ESPN has been breaking down the All-Decade teams for each division from the previous decade. Unfortunately, the Raiders didn’t get much love from the site as only four players made the list (Kelechi Osemele, Rodney Hudson, Khalil Mack and Sebastian Janikowski). Take a look at the full list for the AFC West, courtesy of ESPN:
QB: Peyton Manning, Broncos
RB: Jamaal Charles, Chiefs
LT: Ryan Clady, Broncos
LG: Kelechi Osemele, Raiders
C: Rodney Hudson, Chiefs, Raiders
RG: Louis Vasquez, Chargers, Broncos
RT: Mitchell Schwartz, Chiefs
TE: Travis Kelce, Chiefs
WR: Demaryius Thomas, Broncos
WR: Keenan Allen, Chargers
WR: Emmanuel Sanders, Broncos
DE: Melvin Ingram III, Chargers
DT: Corey Liuget, Chargers
DT: Chris Jones, Chiefs
DE: Khalil Mack, Raiders
LB: Von Miller, Broncos
LB: Justin Houston, Chiefs
LB: Derrick Johnson, Chiefs
CB: Chris Harris Jr., Broncos
CB: Aqib Talib, Broncos
S: Eric Berry, Chiefs
S: Eric Weddle, Chargers
KR: Knile Davis, Chiefs
PR: Tyreek Hill, Chiefs
K: Sebastian Janikowski, Raiders
P: Dustin Colquitt, Chiefs
Unfortunately, it’s tough to make an argument for any other Raiders on this list. The only possible candidate is Amari Cooper, but his numbers pale in comparison to the likes of Thomas, Allen and Sanders. It certainly wasn’t the best decade for the Silver and Black.
