Only eight Georgia Bulldogs go in seven-round NFL mock draft

ESPN NFL draft expert projects in seven-round mock draft that Georgia will finish with its lowest number of players drafted since 2020

The Georgia Bulldogs have 13 players that are hoping to hear their names called during the 2024 NFL draft in Detroit. A recent ESPN NFL mock draft projects that just eight of these 13 prospects will be drafted.

ESPN’s Jordan Reid (subscription required) projects that six Bulldogs will be drafted in the first 100 picks. However, after that he predicts only two Bulldogs will go over the final four rounds of the draft.

Georgia has the most players (25) drafted of any college football program over the past two NFL drafts. If Georgia has just eight players drafted, then it would be the lowest number of Bulldogs selected since seven Dawgs went in the 2020 NFL draft.

Of course, most college football programs would be ecstatic for eight players from their school to be drafted. Georgia under head coach Kirby Smart is different than most other programs. Running back Daijun Edwards, defensive tackle Zion Logue, running back Kendall Milton, long snapper William Mote and defensive end Tramel Walthour would all be disappointed to go undrafted if the draft unfolds as Jordan Reid predicts.

Pick: No. 10

Team: New York Jets

Brock Bowers is the most complete tight end in the draft and Jordan Reid does not envision him falling out of the top-10. “Bowers would give him an immediate top-tier option in the passing game behind Garrett Wilson, and the Jets would love his after-the-catch ability,” writes Jordan Reid.

It would be fun to see Bowers paired with an elite quarterback and in this mock draft he lands with Aaron Rodgers in New York.

Pick: No. 21

Team: Miami Dolphins

“Mims arguably has the most upside of any offensive tackle in this class,” writes Reid. Mims lacks the starting experience (eight career starts) that NFL teams are looking for, but he is a smooth operator despite being 6-foot-8 and 340 pounds. Mims could turn out to be a steal if he stays healthy at the next level.

Pick: No. 24

Team: Kansas City Chiefs

Former Georgia wide receiver Adonai Mitchell getting paired with quarterback Patrick Mahomes would be insane. Mitchell would have an opportunity to make more clutch plays in the postseason after he came up big in the biggest moments during his time in college with Georgia and Texas.

Pick: No. 37

Team: Los Angeles Chargers

Jim Harbaugh and Los Angeles land their receiver in Ladd McConkey. McConkey would be in-line to replace former Chargers’ star Keenan Allen, who is now on the Chicago Bears. McConkey fits a big-time need for the Chargers. “The Chargers’ WR depth chart is arguably the thinnest in the league,” said Jordan Reid.

Pick: No. 60

Team: Buffalo Bills

The Bills lost veteran safety Jordan Poyer this offseason and find a potential replacement in Javon Bullard. Bullard is an excellent tackler and would have a chance to start right away for Buffalo. NFL teams love Bullard’s ability to play both deep safety and slot cornerback.

Pick: No. 67

Team: Washington Commanders

Georgia’s Kamari Lassiter slides to the third round in Jordan Reid’s mock draft. Lassiter was Georgia’s top cornerback in 2023 and will have an opportunity to jockey for a starting role at the next level.

Pick: No. 98

Team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Man, we would love to see this happen. Sedrick Van Pran-Granger reuniting with former Georgia teammates tackle Broderick Jones, wide receiver George Pickens and tight end Darnell Washington in Pittsburgh would be amazing.

“Van Pran-Granger screams Pittsburgh Steeler to me. Wide bodied and savvy, he’s a model of consistency at the center position,” said Jordan Reid.

Pick: No. 128

Team: Buffalo Bills

Former Georgia receiver Jermaine Burton, who finished his college career at Alabama, could help the Bills replace Stefon Diggs. Buffalo needs a few new receivers and could use an excellent separator in Burton.

Pick: No. 142

Team: Carolina Panthers

Tykee Smith will be an interesting player at the next level. Smith, like Javon Bullard, is capable of lining up in the slot or at deep safety. Smith has excellent physicality and ran well at the combine, so it would be surprising to see him drop to the fifth-round as Jordan Reid predicts.

Pick: No. 212

Team: Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars land a possession receiver in Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, who impressed draft scouts at the Senior Bowl. Rosemy-Jacksaint does the little things right and that’s why he will be drafted.
