A little over a year ago, the State of Nevada rolled out a new Raiders vanity license plate. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of those plates would go to the Raiders charitable arm, Raiders Foundation.
The license plates went on sale on January 14 of 2019. A year later, nearly 12K plates had been sold, generating over $350K for the Raiders foundation. As of Monday, February 10, the figures were at 12,419, according to a Raiders official, bringing the current number amount donated to the Raiders foundation to over $372K and counting.
The overall cost for one of the plates is $62. Of that, $32 goes to the state and $30 goes to Raiders Foundation. None of it goes directly to the Raiders franchise.
With the numbers averaging just under 1000 plates sold per month, the figures could approach $700K by the end of this year.
According to the Raiders website, the Raiders Foundation’s mission statement is being designed to increase community and civic health through military support and youth development. Some recent Raiders Foundation events have included Toys 4 Tots drives, youth football camps, and USO military combine.
