Texas A&M (3-1. 1-0 SEC) will face Arkansas (3-1, 1-0 SEC) on Saturday afternoon, as the Southwest Classic will resume inside AT&T Stadium for a final game in the venue after a decade-plus.
After defeating Bowling Green last weekend, head coach Mike Elko didn’t learn much about his team on both sides of the ball outside of redshirt freshman quarterback Marcel Reed’s continued progress, paired with the pass rush finally getting home and recording multiple sacks.
This weekend, the Razorback’s offense averages over 40.5 points per game, meaning the Aggie defense must be stout against the run and not allow too many explosive plays through the air.
On the recruiting front, two of Texas A&M’s 2025 commits will attend the game. 4-star linebacker Noah Mikhail and 4-star wide receiver Kelshaun Johnson will watch the Aggies hopefully put on a solid performance. Mikhail, whom the Oregon Ducks are still heavily pursuing, could solidify his commitment to the Aggies, as both players will likely visit with the coaching staff after the game.
According to 247Sports, Mikhail is currently positioned as the 83rd-ranked prospect in the class, the 10th-ranked linebacker prospect, and the 5th-ranked prospect in California.
Texas A&M will face Arkansas inside AT&T Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 2:30 p.m. CT. The game will air on ESPN.
