This is where we are at for the Colorado Buffaloes 2022 football campaign: They are 0-5 and Karl Dorrell is now gone after another lackluster performance.
With the bye week here, it will be interesting to see how Colorado looks with interim head coach Mike Sanford when the Buffs face Cal on Oct.15 in Boulder.
Nonetheless, in Saturday’s 43-20 loss to Arizona, there weren’t a ton of bright spots, but here is the key stat: 20 points.
Yes, that is the most the Buffs have scored in a single game this year, and they scored three more than the week before against UCLA.
It wasn’t spectacular, but at least the offense showed some life with Owen McCown running the show and running back Anthony Hankerson leading the team in carries and yards (12 carries for 68 yards and a score).
Halftime Thoughts #SkoBuffs
Owen McCown is gonna be something great for the Buffs!
Deion Smith and Charlie Offerdahl should be the main RBs
This Defense has a lot of potential to be good but they have no heart

McCown finished the game 14-of-30 through the air for 186 yards and a score, and he added 10 carries for 43 yards and a touchdown on the ground as he has clearly shown to be the best option between him, JT Shrout, and Brendon Lewis.
Again, it wasn’t spectacular, but, for now, the offense is improving, and McCown figures to give CU its best chance at QB.
