One awful missed strike call blew open the Astros’ Game 4 ALCS win

This was bad.

It’s the morning after another MLB playoff game, and once again, all we’re talking about is a controversial call.

This one is from the ninth inning of the ALCS Game 4. With the game tied 2-2, Nathan Eovaldi delivered a 1-2 pitch with two outs that sure looked like a strike to Jason Castro on the outside corner. But umpire Las Diaz certainly didn’t think so.

Then? A go-ahead single that scored Carlos Correa. And from there, the Astros would score another SIX runs to win 9-2.

But what if that call had been a strike instead of a ball? We’d have an entirely different outcome.
