With fall camps across the country set to begin shortly, On3 college football analyst J.D. Pickell shared his game-by-game predictions for the Colorado Buffaloes’ second season under head coach Deion Sanders.
Pickell believes the Buffs will begin about as strong as they did last year, winning four of their first six games. Colorado will beat the North Dakota State Bison, Colorado State Rams, Baylor Bears and UCF Knights while falling to the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Lincoln and a physical Kansas State Wildcats squad in Boulder.
After that, Pickell sees the Buffaloes securing a bowl bid courtesy of back-to-back Big 12 Conference wins over the Arizona Wildcats and Cincinnati Bearcats.
His final four picks weren’t kind to Colorado, however. The Texas Tech Red Raiders, Utah Utes, Kansas Jayhawks and Oklahoma State Cowboys were each given Pickell’s nod, giving the Buffs a final regular season record of 6-6.
Because of Colorado’s improvements in the trenches and elsewhere, I’d argue that six wins should be considered the floor for Coach Prime’s revamped team.
