On3 predicts Tyrin Lawrence to sign with Auburn

After a successful weekend visit, Lawrence could be making the move to the Plains soon.

Auburn and head coach [autotag]Bruce Pearl[/autotag] has already made a splash in the transfer portal to this point by signing FIU guard [autotag]Denver Jones[/autotag] and the reigning Gulf South Conference Player of the Year, [autotag]Cheney Johnson[/autotag] of Alabama-Huntsville.

It appears as if Pearl and company are not finished yet, as they are on the verge of landing its’ biggest headliner of the class, Vanderbilt’s [autotag]Tyrin Lawrence[/autotag].

Lawrence, the Commodores’ leading scorer last season, paid a visit to Auburn last weekend and left feeling that Pearl’s program would be a “perfect fit.” Following the visit, On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has listed Auburn as the early favorite to become Lawrence’s next destination.

Lawrence would be valuable to Auburn scheme-wise, but he is also considered to be one of the best options currently in the transfer portal says Brad Crawford of 247Sports:

Lawrence entered the transfer portal last week after a breakout junior season where he averaged 13.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists on fabulous shooting splits. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound guard is part of a mass exodus out of the Vanderbilt program. Name, Image and Likeness is expected to be a major factor in Lawrence’s decision, according to a report from 247Sports’ Robbie Weinstein. Lawrence was one of the best off-the-bounce slashers in the country. Lawrence shot 56% on 2s, including a scintillating 69.4% at the rim. Lawrence lived at the charity stripe (140 attempts) and shot 36% from downtown.

Lawrence spent three seasons at Vanderbilt, and gradually increased production each year.
