The Texas Tech Red Raiders have been building up some momentum on the recruiting trail ever since the hire of Joey McGuire.
He was named the head coach of the program on Nov. 8, 2021. At that moment he started recruiting immediately while interim head coach Sonny Cumbie ran the day-to-day football operations.
In his first full recruiting cycle, the Red Raiders secured the No. 27 composite class according to 247Sports. Their highest-rated player ranked No. 252 in the country. Looking ahead to the 2024 cycle, Tech has the highest-ranked class in the new look Big 12. They are now targeting one of the top players in the country.
On Tuesday, Sam Spiegelman of On3 logged a prediction for Joey McGuire and the Red Raiders to land one of the best wide receivers in the country.

Hudson would be the highest-rated recruit in Texas Tech history by a mile. In fact, they have never signed a five-star prospect since they began ranking recruits in 2000.
The five-star wide receiver from Lake Belton in Temple, Texas, is being pursued by the likes of the Texas Longhorns, Texas A&M Aggies, and Oklahoma Sooners among others.
This would be a major win for McGuire if it holds true.
