LSU football is off to a good start in the transfer portal, with On3 recognizing the Tigers’ efforts so far.
According to On3’s Pete Nakos, only Texas Tech currently has a better haul than LSU. Ole Miss, Auburn, Texas A&M, and Oregon round out the rankings.
LSU head coach Brian Kelly promised an aggressive approach to the portal, and the Tigers have backed it up. Per ESPN, LSU landed four of the top 12 players in the portal.
247Sports’ transfer portal class rankings slot the Tigers No. 2 nationally.
247Sports ranks former Florida State defensive end Patrick Payton as LSU’s top addition. Followed by WRs Nic Anderson and Barion Brown, along with cornerback Mansoor Delane.
LSU isn’t just landing top players; it’s filling key holes on the roster. With Kyren Lacy off to the NFL and CJ Daniels transferring to Miami, LSU needed to rebuild the wide receiver room. Anderson and Brown help fill that void.
Needs still exist, though. Kelly and the staff would like to keep adding on the offensive line and at safety.
