On this day: Bob Cousy inducted into Hall of Fame; Tracy Jackson born

On this day in 1971, Boston Celtics legendary point guard Bob Cousy was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

Boston would also sweep the Indiana Pacers four games to zero with a 110-106 win on this day in 2019.

It came at the hands of the Celtics’ bench, with Gordon Hayward leading Boston with 20 points and Marcus Morris Sr. adding 18 points and 8 rebounds, the duo combining to hit 5-of-7 from 3-point range.

“I knew there was going to be a spark off the bench … and that person was Gordon Hayward,” related guard Kyrie Irving via the Associated Press.
