On the Boston Celtics’ Grant Williams sign and trade to the Dallas Mavericks

The Celtics are to receive multiple second round picks from Dallas on their end of the deal, as well as a traded player exception Boston could use at a later date to absorb the salary of a player or two in an asynchronous trade.

Boston Celtics reserve forward Grant Williams has been signed and traded from the Celtics to the Dallas Mavericks in a three-team trade also involving the San Antonio Spurs to make the restricted free agent’s trade to Dallas possible per multiple reports.

The Mavs aim to improve their defense and 3-point shooting with Williams’ addition to the roster. The Celtics are to receive multiple second round picks from Dallas on their end of the deal, as well as a traded player exception Boston could use at a later date to absorb the salary of a player or two in an asynchronous trade.

The Spurs acquire Reggie Bullock to strengthen their shooting, as well as an unrestricted Mavs 2030 first round pick swap.
